This is the story of moving a 1901 house to Lake Ida in Alexandria and fully gutting it and adding a basement, office, front entry and creating a stunning home. I love creating charm and character and saving old homes! HGTV called wanting to do a show on this house...unfortuantly, we were almost finished by then! :)

Kitchen repair

This ceiling was covered by a drop ceiling. We pulled that down and added lighting. Then designed a pattern in the ceiling over the island to repair the different tin ceiling tiles. Painted you cannot tell. See above kitchen photo for after.

Ceiling transformation

This ceiling was covered by sheetrock. We removed that and scraped the old yuck off. A soft covering of a warm white paint created wonderful texture!

Exterior wall reclaimed

With adding a front entry to the house this dark stained wall was the exterior of the house. Once we removed the wood siding... I experimented and created this wonderful stained wall. Perfect for accenting artwork!
